The new KiCAD 6 PCB file includes all the fields from the schematic in each part. Right now, only the value gets used by the precious parts system and users need to enter manufacturing part numbers for each part manually. It would be great if it was possible for your website to pull the MPN for each footprint and try to assign it automatically. You could ask the user what field their part numbers are on.
